In this week’s class we got to present our last group work. As usual, every group made awesome projects. My group got good comments from our classmates. Everyone seemed to love the idea. Dr Cecile commended our work and told us somethings to take note of; In making projects, we should always ask ourselves ‘who would the project serve?’. We also made use of the term ‘normal’ in the project and we were corrected because normal is a relative word so it is always best to avoid the term. Also, we did not have to display the part we tagged normal so that the audience can have a whole experience. We could also provide extra links to where the audience can get help if they needed it r.g links to health care centres that deal with colour blindness cases. The music was very entertaining in a way that it would make the audience want to watch the video but it was not very sensitive considering the theme of the project.

During the workshop, we were introduced to our next tasks. We were all expected to prepare a 3 slide pitch presentation of our final project for the course. It should include mind map of what inspired the topic, a 250-word outline of the concept and why it is key to be represented, the creative method, the audience and the situation of the project. We were also put in break our rooms to discuss our ideas and help one another in the development of our ideas. Talking to my coursemates helped to structure my ideas properly.

My idea was to document the events of the longest and largest protest in Nigeria, the #ENDSARS protest. The concept is to document history in a non-linear interactive format. I want the project to be a reference to research on issues relating to human rights, human rights infringement or police brutality.

Draft of my slide

For this weeks reading, I learnt about the importance and the evolution of user interface aesthetics. I also noted somethings to take note when choosing the aesthetics for my project.
